Official Rules for Mercy Home’s St. Patrick’s Day 2013 Raffle

VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. All raffle tickets must be purchased or issued in the City ofChicagoor other authorized jurisdiction. The Mercy Home St. Patrick's Day 2013 Raffle ("Raffle") is a random drawing raffle to occur at O'Brien's Restaurant, 1528 North Wells, Chicago, IL to be held on or about Sunday, March 17, 2013 (the "Drawing"). Participation constitutes each entrant's full and unconditional acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Official Rules. Raffle is sponsored by Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 W. Jackson,Chicago,IL60607("Sponsor").

Eligibility / To Enter: The Raffle is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age. To enter, eligible entrants must purchase one or more raffle tickets for the Raffle. Tickets for the Raffle will cost ten dollars ($10.00) per ticket or twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for 3 tickets. Tickets must be purchased or issued in the City of Chicago or other authorized jurisdiction through Sponsor prior to the Drawing and while supplies last. No more than 3,000 raffle tickets will be sold. Employees of Sponsor and American Airlines ("Sponsor Personnel") are not eligible to enter.

Selection of Winners: One (1) Grand Prize winner, one (1) Second Place winner, and one (1) Third Place winner will be randomly selected in the Drawing. Winners need not be present at the Drawing to win. Winners must acknowledge acceptance of their prize to Sponsor by March 25, 2013 or prize may be forfeited. Odds of winning depend on number of entries; no more than 3,000 tickets will be sold.


a.) Grand Prize winner will receive one (1) prize package consisting of round-trip main cabin air transportation for winner and companion aboard American Airlines from the American Airlines city nearest the Winner's city of residence, to Dublin, Ireland*, or London, England, based on space availability; *seasonal service to Dublin, Ireland. Travel must take place between March 17, 2013 – March 16, 2014 or prize will be forfeited in its entirety and will not be extended. Approximate retail value of Grand Prize ("ARV"): $4,500.00 Actual value may vary based on airfare fluctuations and distance between departure and destination.) The Second Place winner will win one-thousand dollars ($1,000). The Third Place winner will win five-hundred dollars ($500). Winners are responsible for all taxes, expenses, baggage charges, lodging, ground transportation, meals, fees and costs applicable to their respective prize. A winner's right to a prize is non-transferable and may not be assigned. No substitution of prize or, in the case of the Grand Prize, election of cash in lieu of prize will be permitted, except in the sole discretion of Sponsor in light of prize unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.

b.) Travel Certificate(s) have no value except when redeemed in accordance with the terms and conditions in the prize letter(s) guidelines as well as those listed on the back of the prize letter(s). Travel Certificate(s) are not transferable or refundable.

c.) Travel Certificate(s) are subject to availability of promotional inventories and current embargoed dates. Coach must be booked in "T" class. No open Travel Certificate(s) are permitted. Embargoed dates may apply.

d.) Travel Certificate(s) provided in this agreement cannot be bartered or sold for cash, or in lieu of cash payment.

e.) Travel Certificate(s) must be issued by the American Airlines Ticket Redemption Center at 1-800-727-2142. Travel agencies cannot issue Ticket(s).

f.) Any applicable fees, taxes, surcharges, service charges, or passenger facility charges are the responsibility of the user and must be paid at the time the Ticket is issued. Taxes shall include all federal, state, local and foreign taxes of any kind, and whether assessed for winning or otherwise coming into receipt of the prize, or in relation to use of the Ticket(s).

g.) If Travel Certificate(s) are provided for fund-raising, the fund-raising activity cannot be conducted by or in connection with a 3rd party (including, but not limited to the offering of Travel Awards on public auction web sites); provided nothing herein shall prevent the use of a 3rd party administrative entity such as may be available to charitable organizations in the conduct of a promotion.

h.) Minors who are declared winners must be accompanied on all prize flights by a parent or guardian.

i.) Travel Certificate(s) are valid for travel only on American Airlines, American Eagle Airlines, Inc., Executive Airlines, Inc. or the AmericanConnection carrier (collectively referred to as "American Airlines"). American Eagle and AmericanConnection carriers are regional airlines associated with American Airlines, Inc. American Eagle services is operated by American Eagle Airlines, Inc., or Executive Airlines, Inc., each of which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the parent company of American Airlines. The AmericanConnection service is operated by Chautauqua Airlines, Inc., an unaffiliated independent contractor. Travel is not valid on flights operated under a code sharing agreement with other air carriers.

j.) Travel must be via the most direct American Airlines routing. Unnecessary and circuitous routings, connecting points and/or segments are prohibited. Stopovers, except for the next connecting flight, are not permitted.

k.) American Airlines is not responsible for, and will not pay, expenses associated with transportation on other carriers, ground transportation, excess baggage charges or overnight lodging, if required.

l.) If American Airlines, for any reason, discontinues service to the selected destination before the travel date, the user must select an alternate American Airlines destination.

m.) After a Ticket has been issued from a Travel Certificate, an administrative service charge of $100.00 will be assessed for any change requiring reticketing, such as a change of origin or destination. Changes requiring reticketing must have prior approval of ticket authorizer.

n.) After a Ticket has been issued from a Travel Certificate, an administrative service charge of $25.00 will be assessed for any changes regarding a date or time. Changes requiring reticketing must have prior approval of ticket authorizer

o.) After a Ticket has been issued from a Travel Certificate, Customer must contact the Ticket Redemption Center or Reservations prior to flight if they plan on canceling their ticketed reservation. In the event Customer fails to contact an American Airlines representative through the Ticket Redemption Center of Reservations, the ticket will default to a No-Show, and an administrative service charge of $50.00 (Coach Class) will be assessed to reinstate the reservation.

p.) Unused Travel Certificate(s) may be used at a later date (valid until travel expiration date), subject to a ticket reissue fee. Travel Certificate(s) that are not used by the expiration date of the contract will not be extended. Credit will not be given for unused Travel Certificate(s).

q.) Lost or stolen Travel Certificate(s) will not be replaced.

r.) Passengers are not eligible for AADVANTAGE mileage credit or any other promotional benefit that American may offer. AADVANTAGE miles and/or stickers can not be used to upgrade.

s.) Purchased upgrades are permitted by paying the difference between full fare for the authorized class of service and the next class of service. Paid upgrades are only allowed for next cabin. Two cabin upgrades will not be processed. Processing of purchased upgrades will be handled when redeeming certificate through our Ticket Redemption Center and may not be handled at airport ticket counters. Processing time is a minimum of 48 hours based on hours of operation of Ticket Redemption Center.

t.) Sponsor is responsible for issuing 1099 tax forms to winners based on prize value.

General Terms: By participating in this Raffle, entrants agree to be bound by these Rules and all decisions of Sponsor, which shall be binding and final. Sponsor and its affiliated entities are not responsible for printing, distribution, production, or other errors that may affect the Raffle, its operation, or its integrity, and may rescind, cancel, or revoke this Raffle based on such error and without liability by refunding all tickets purchased. Tickets or receipts that are mutilated, incomplete, defective, altered, illegible, forged or irregular in any way, or not in full compliance with these Official Rules, are void. Entry constitutes permission for Sponsor to use Winner's name and likeness for advertising and/or promotional purposes (except where prohibited by law).

Winners will be notified on or about March 19, 2013. Sponsor will attempt to notify winners based on contact information provided by each winner to Sponsor at time of entry. Entrants are solely responsible for providing Sponsor with accurate and updated information. Sponsor, its affiliated entities, and Sponsor Personnel are not responsible for incorrect, incomplete, or illegible contact information provided by entrants. Winners and travel companions may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, waiver of liability and publicity release. In the event that the winners fail to claim any prize or fail to acknowledge acceptance of a prize, the winner's right to the prize may be forfeited. In such event, the prize will be sold and all proceeds will benefit Sponsor.

Each entrant, including each winner, agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor from any liability, claims, actions, losses, or damages arising in any way from participation in this Raffle or acceptance, failure to accept, receipt, ownership, use, or misuse of any prize. To the extent that some provisions may not be applicable in whole or in part, the liability of Sponsor, shall be limited to the fullest maximum extent permitted by law, including, where permitted, eliminated altogether. Entrant agrees that (1) under no circumstance will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and (2) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Raffle, but in no event attorneys' fees.

Sponsor respects your privacy, and entrants' information will not be used except by Sponsor, as otherwise provided in these Rules. The Raffle is subject to the laws of the State of Illinois and the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago. Any dispute in connection with these Official Rules or this Raffle shall be resolved exclusively in state or federal courts in Chicago, Illinois. Entrants consent to jurisdiction in such courts.

Winners List: Winners names will be published on Sponsor's web site at To obtain a copy of the winners' names, send your request in writing along with a stamped, self-addressed envelop (VT residents may omit return postage) to: Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, Attn: St. Patrick's Day Raffle Winner List, 1140 W. Jackson, Chicago, IL 60607. Requests must be received by April 1, 2013.
